Decision making and timetables

After the call for proposal deadline has been reached, the SAFIPA programme office (SPO) goes through the proposals. At this point we may be in contact with you and ask for clarifications and more information if necessary.

SPO may use external experts to assess the proposals and to make recommendations for the Steering Committee. The Steering Committee makes the decisions on which proposals are accepted. Steering Committee meetings are held minimum of four times a year, so if you miss one deadline, there's another chance next quarter. In general, the Steering Committee will meet 6 to 8 weeks after the call deadline. This time allows us to analyse the proposals and ask for more information where needed.

The decisions of the Steering Committee will be communicated after each meeting as soon as possible, and successful projects will be informed of the next steps.
